Make 2017 Your Year!: The Top 4 Regenerative Therapies to Look Into This Year

With a new year upon us, a new you awaits.

One of Regeneris Medical’s goals is to continue to provide our patients with an above-and-beyond healing experience. Make your resolution to treat yourself right and to prioritize your own well-being, and know that part of our resolution is to help you accomplish yours.

Although there is a non-exhaustive list of ailments that can be treated by regenerative technologies, here are the top 4 regenerative therapies that can help you have your best year yet.

1. Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Looking to get back to the track this year? Don’t opt for surgery so quickly- regain your mobility and treat your osteoarthritis of the knee with us at Regeneris Medical. Our procedure utilizes your body’s own healing abilities to help heal your OA. In comparison to surgery, it’s less costly, less time-consuming, and much easier on your body.

In our approach, we utilize the anti-inflammatory and healing effects of Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF, which is rich in mesenchymal stem cells and growth factors) and PRP autologous platelet rich plasma (to optimize the effects of the SVF). This is all performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia, and is all done at the time of SVF harvesting and procurement. The entire procedure itself takes approximately 5 hours.

Don’t waste another year in pain- get moving today!

3. Hair Restoration

Take 2017 by storm and look your best! Hair loss can be a traumatic experience for both men and women. Regeneris Medical has developed a protocol in which we utilize a patient’s own stem cells to restore his/her hair growth. This therapy is expected to work by activating already existing stem cells on the scalp.

There are two regenerative approaches that can be taken to restore hair growth: PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy, and SVF (Stromal Vascular Fraction) therapy.

For PRP Therapy, the first step is to simply draw blood. We then spin the blood in a centrifuge and extract the platelets. We then activate the platelets, add some naturally-occurring growth factors, and return it to your body through a series of pinpoint injections on the scalp.

Another option is using SVF. This is a method which utilizes adult autologous adipose cells (the patient’s own fat cells). Stem cells are your natural healing cells, and act as the repair system in your body by replenishing inactive cellular material. The procedure entails performing a mini-liposuction from the belly under local anesthesia. Mesenchymal stem cells are extracted from the tissue, which are then incubated. The result is injected directly into areas of concern. Once these stem cells are administered, they have the ability to repair and re-activate dormant follicles, forming new cells.

4. Regeneris Anti-Aging

Turn back time this year! Regeneris Medical can help you bring out your inner youth by using your very own healing abilities by using the PRP Cellu-Lift procedure and the Regeneris Face Lift.

The PRP Cellu-Lift is one of the most advanced and effective anti-aging procedures available today. The Cellu-Lift is a Platelet Rich Plasma therapy designed to focus on skin tissue regeneration. First, we attain your platelet-rich plasma (PRP) through a blood draw. When injected into specific areas of the skin, it acts as a matrix that promotes collagen growth, regenerates tissue, and acts as to naturally smooth and tighten the skin.

The natural production of collagen leads to a total facial rejuvenation rather than just individual wrinkle improvement. PRP is used for volatizing faces that are beginning to look drawn, to plump out cheek indentations, soften under eye hollow, improve the skin tone, tightness, and texture, and fill in areas where hyaluronic acid fillers cannot reach or are not safe to use.

The Regeneris Face Lift restores lost volume and revitalizes your facial appearance with a minimally invasive procedure that combines fat transfer, PRP and stem cells.

Stem cells certainly have a role to play in cosmetic surgery. However, very few surgeons are experienced using Stem Cell + PRP activated fat grafts. At Regeneris Medical, we have performed SVF/PRP procedures since 2009 for variety of medical and aesthetic conditions.

The Regeneris Face Lift is performed in our office. Results are natural, free of incisions, and can be expected to last longer than traditional facial rejuvenation options on the market.

THE “SPECIAL TREATMENT” FOR WOMEN HAS FINALLY ARRIVED. Quietly.

It's only been recently that female sexuality has been a hot topic of conversation. For a very long time, it may have seemed as though men received gotten the “special treatment” when it came to medically treating sexual dysfunction. Now is finally time to have that much-needed discussion about female sexual dysfunction.

MORE THAN YOU THINK

It is estimated that around 43% of women of all ages suffer from sexual dysfunction...and that’s just based on the number of those who have reported their frustrations. Considering this, “the actual number of women [could] be greater than 50%--some estimate to be at least 60%...That means that with 150 million women in the US in 2010, at least 50 million women suffer with these problems.” [1]

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS?

Unfortunately, we lose sexual libido as we age due to hormonal changes and life stress. Some of the other potential causes include diabetes, adrenal disorders, neurological conditions, arthritis, and the usage of certain medications and drugs. [2]

Symptoms of sexual dysfunction in women include--but are not limited to--reduced libido, difficulty reaching orgasm, decreased lubrications, and loss of self-esteem. [3]

TREATMENTS FOR FEMALE SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION

There is currently only one FDA approved drug for female sexual dysfunction called Addyi (flibanserin). However, there could be possible problems with Addyi as this medication is very new (it was approved in late 2015). Thus, there hasn’t been enough time to truly see all of the benefits and issues with the drug. One thing to keep in mind is that it does come with a boxed warning that highlights the risks of severe hypotension and syncope [loss of consciousness] in patients who drink alcohol during treatment with Addyi.” It can also potentially cause central nervous system depression. [4]

Other treatments include “vaginal estrogen or topical testosterone, psychotherapy,” or “hormone therapies.” The results of these treatments being described as "short-term".  [5]

THE O-SHOT: ALTERNATIVE THERAPY USING REGENERATIVE MEDICINE

If you’re looking for a more natural therapy, Regeneris Medical can provide you just that with the O-Shot- a revolutionary alternative therapy for female sexual dysfunction. Just like the P-Shot, (for males with erectile dysfunction) the O-Shot is a “simple, relatively painless, office-based procedure which utilizes PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma – blood-derived growth factors) to rejuvenate the tissues” of the vagina. Some of the potential benefits of the O-Shot include [as listed by http://oshot.info/]:

  • Greater arousal from clitoral stimulation
  • Younger, smoother skin of the vulva (lips of the vagina).
  • A tighter introitus (vaginal opening)
  • Stronger orgasm
  • More frequent orgasm
  • Increased sexual desire
  • Increased ability to have a vaginal orgasm
  • Decreased pain for those with dyspareunia (painful intercourse)
  • Increased natural lubrication
  • Decreased urinary incontinence [6]
